Tetris is a revolutionary game played by millions. Now with TetrisZone, you can play Tetris on your computer. You play the game by rotating the dropping "tetrimino" blocks of various shapes so that they fit into the accumulating tetriminos at the bottom of the matrix. Every time you arrange the blocks so that they form a full row across, the row is removed. After 10 lines are awarded towards your goal, you are promoted to the next level.
The blocks fall increasingly quicker and quicker on each level. On the left there is a holding queue which allows you to save a single block for later. On the top right a preview is shown of the upcoming three blocks. On the bottom right your statistics are shown. Combinations, T-spins, tetrises, back-to-backs, soft drops and hard drops, all earn you additional points and awarded lines toward your goal.
Four methods of game-play are available: Marathon, Challenge, Sprint, and Master. In the Marathon mode your objective is to stay on top of things for as long as you can. You can earn points not only for completing rows but also for tricky moves. Challenge mode gives you ten minutes to see how many points you can earn. In Sprint mode you try to get 40 lines done as quickly as you can. Master mode drops the blocks immediately, so you have to be able to think like lightning.
TetrisZone comes with three MIDI music tracks that you can choose from. All volume levels are adjustable and you can even choose what keystrokes are assigned to which actions. You can even watch previously played games to see how the Tetris gurus win best. This can really improve your game, so that you can master the game of 4-block shapes called Tetris on TetrisZone.
