Shadow Copy Cloner is a small but easy-to-use application which can make a complete copy of your hard disk drive into another. After the information is copied, it can be read or accessed as if it was the original disk. The most important requirement is an additional external or internal disk. The time required to make the backup copy will depend on the size of the information. After you have made an entire copy, you can make subsequent updates only for the information which has changed.
To operate the program you have to select the source drive, the target drive, and use the Clone option. The source drive is the hard disk that contains the information that you need to backup. The target drive requires the same capacity of the source drive at least in order to make the backup copy. One important feature is that you can exclude files and folders for the backup. You just have to manually add them to the list that is shown on the main window.
Among other parameters that you can configure, the program includes the update of attributes and permissions on the target drive; the deletion of non-existent files from the target drive; the use of low I/O priority; and the possibility of making the target drive bootable.
