AudioMove is a free tool that allows you to convert your WAV and AIFF audio files from one format to the other, selecting the bit rate, the sample rate, and the quality level of the output file. This is a very useful piece of software to resample your audio files, to improve its quality, and to switch formats from WAV to AIFF, or vice-versa.
You can add as many files as needed in either WAV or AIFF format, select the codec you want the output files to be created with, and AudioMove will process all the files according to the settings of your choice. The settings available will allow you to create high-quality audio files with sampling rates ranging from 11.025 kHz to 192 kHz, and a width that can vary from 8-bit to 64-bit. You can also tell AudioMove to use the same quality settings as those in the source file.
AudioMove can also create an .lcsDisk file for you. These files include all the metadata of the audio files in the destination folder (file name, file length, and number of tracks in the file), replicating this information to be used in environments where the physical files are not available. Note that these compressed files can only be read using either CueStation or VirtualLX.
This open source project is available for Linux, Mac and Windows platforms, and you can reuse its source code subject to the terms a GPL licence scheme.
