AVS Video Recorder Download

AVS Video Recorder is a video capturing utility for Windows. You can use this application to capture video from your DV camcorder or from a VHS tape (if you have the right connectors); or simply capture video from a webcam, or anything that is connected to your computer.

AVS Video Recorder quickly detects which connection is showing video and it auto-selects it. On the left side of the screen there is a video preview, and on the right you can see the various configuration settings. One good thing about this recorder is that it allows you to capture video in the recording device's native format or MPEG-2. Thus, if you are shooting high-quality video and don't care about hard drive space, you can select the native format that produces uncompressed video. If not, simply go with the compressed MPEG-2 file. There aren't many options regarding the sound output. In fact, the only supported codec seems to be MP2, which is rather old. The graphical user interface seems ideal for this kind of application. There are certain options that allow you to schedule the application to stop recording or to split videos at particular time frames.
