Zoom player is a player that will impress you greatly. Its a shareware product developed by Inmatrix that comes in three versions - standard, professional and WMV professional. Out of these, the standard version is free. The other two will cost you $37.95 and $47.95 respectively. The program's attraction lies in its progressive zooming option, i.e., with the help of your scroll button you can change the screen size; scroll up to make the window smaller and vice versa. It is a 2.45 MB application giving you more, yet taking less space. The player looks simple and all the necessary option buttons (like full screen, internal equalizer, playback controls, playlist buttons etc.) are all on the screen. Upon installation, it checks your system, and then informs you about all the formats it won't be able to play, with a help section for each one of them. The player has many hotkeys, thus making operation with keyboard comfortable. The mouse icon changes to a vertical bar shape, when placed over the playback bar, making it easier for you to correctly seek the given time, and by right clicking it you can forward or backward the file by the custom number of seconds (default is 5 sec). You can make a lot of other changes in the way the files are played, like the brightness, contrast, gamma rays, aspect ratio of the video; function of the mouse wheel, up/down/right/left direction keys and much more.
One of the unique features of this player is its playlist settings. You can save the playlist, add or remove files, load playlist, clear playlist; but that is common. What's new is the option to sort the playlist in alphabetical order and, more importantly, the option to loop a particular file and play it again and again!!!! You can also search the playlist for a particular file. It also mentions the total time of the playlist.
The player also has some drawbacks like its limited number of supported files and a dull interface.
All in all this player is worth trying.
