Last.Fm scrobbler is a desktop program, by means of which you can listen to all types of radio stations, and music collections of all the imaginable music styles. Last.Fm opens a whole universe of new music, after creating an account and downloading its freeware utility.
Using Last.Fm is as simple as writing the name of an artist and waiting for the search results. After listening to a particular song, the software will play all music related to that musical genre or artist. Then, we can start creating our music collection, playlists and lists out of "loved" tracks, directly from the controls in the software layout. Apart from that, the software displays basic information on the band and artists you are listening to, like a basic biography, info on their albums, concerts, etc.
On the other hand, the software gives you access to the Last.Fm community, where you can create a profile, meet people with similar musical tastes, and share music with them; a good chance to know new artists, discover old classic bands and albums, and expand your music horizon. Through a plug-in it connects your media player (Winamp, Windows Media Player, iTunes) to the Last.fm community, to get scrobbling, track the music you've been listening, and keep your profile updated.
There are more features, not essential tough, like listening to our "loved" tracks, or to our playlist radio, and a few others, that will require a subscription. New features in Last.Fm 1.5 include added translations, including Japanese, and some minor fixes in the layout. Last.Fm is, quoting a lovely song, "just like heaven" for music lovers.
