APILE Plus is used to compute the axial capacity, as a function of depth, of a driven pile in clay, sand, or mixed-soil profiles. The main computational methods used by APILE are those established by the American Petroleum Institute (API) in their manual on recommended practice, API-RP2A.
A new option, added in this edition, is the ability to perform computations for tensile (uplift) loads. Another new feature is to allow the user to enter a variation of cross-sectional area as a function of depth.
