GVCCS was designed to emulate systems like the Rapid Deployment Voice Switch (RDVS) [ARTS], the Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch (ETVS) [STARS], and the Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS) [DSR]. The innovation behind this tool is that it uses Skype as a basis for communications, automatically linking you to the correct controller. This tool allows you to see if another controller is busy on frequency before you call and allows you to redirect calls, add controllers to existing calls, and call land lines amongst other features. It is extremely easy to use and I encourage all controllers to start using it as it will ease the operational coordination process.
