Sigma XL is a Microsoft Excel third-party add-in that allows statistical professionals to enhance basic Excel's charts and reports. Excel is the common application to enter data and gather most numerical information, however, its statistical reports functionality is limited, as the data must be exported to other application to get specific reports/charts.
The application can be found embedded into the Ribbon Toolbar, making the access easy and as simple as moving to print a document. The included options are what most statistical professionals might need: Data Manupulation, Templates, Calculators,Graphical/Statistical tools, Process Capability, Control Charts, Reliability Analysis, Measurement Analysis, among others. One of the strengths of the program is the ease to setup a chart/report from the source file, and specially to have the result in a separate sheet in the workbook. Usually all changes/charts are "pasted" into the actual working sheet, compromising or editing a certain format (inserting charts on top of data). This way the user will have every result on a different sheet, being able to look into errors and do changes from the source file at once.
