The SNMP manager ELMcontrol allows easy configuration, control and monitoring of the electronic locking system EMKA ELM on a PC with Microsoft Windows® operating systems. The data exchange between ELMcontrol and an ELM system can be effected via network or serial interface of a Communication component which is implemented on module H1m14 (3000-U14). The Simple Network Management Protocol SNMPv1 (RFC1157) is used as network communication protocol. This also allows the integration of the ELM systems into third party SNMP manager programs. For security reasons the exchange via network interface is possible on authorized computers, only. The serial interface allows an unlimited access to data and is used for the initial set up of an ELM system.
