OpenMortal is a parody game based on the popular arcade game Mortal Kombat. If you ever imagined to be fighting in a game like this yourself, maybe this is a good chance to do it. It’s a little complicated to load yourself into a character, but you can do it following the instructions in http://openmortal.sourceforge.net/Character_HOWTO.html documentation.
This game intends to be a funny copy of the original game recreating the essence of the game but with fighters that are ordinary persons and some are even funny persons with funny clothes. Even the key combinations that produce any special punch are recreated with some funny powers or hits to opponents depending on the chosen character.
You can play this game only with a human opponent; the single player option is not available in this version. So you can choose to play on the MortalNet and look for some opponent on the Internet, or play with another opponent at your computer.
Even its playing options are funny: for the speed, you can choose among normal, turbo or kung-fu movie; its stamina option has normal, high, very high and near immortal levels; and the rest of the options are similar with funny titles. Its statistics at the end of every match are funny according to the character. The game's GUI is good and the option to add yourself as a fighter is great. Its installation process is very easy to perform. Its documentation is available on the website.
OpenMortal runs in Windows, Linux, Mac OS platforms.
