The rF Open Wheel Racing Project, a combination of mod developers, decided to band together to bring the 2008 season of the IndyCar series. The 2007 mod was successful enough, however many fans still preferred the 2007 ChampCar mod. But 2008 was the first year of the unified series, meaning that many drivers from ChampCar ended up in IndyCar. The season was also one to remember, with many new winners such as Rahal and Patrick. Therefore, the time came for the 2008 to be released.
This is a complete mod, with everything even the safety car modeled according to the IndyCar series. You will have all liveries and drivers in the mod. You will even have simulated wet tracks, with wet physics involved. The game is very similar to the 2007 mod, but there are some graphics as well as physics-related upgrades. However, there are still minor issues, fixed with the 1.1 patch. You need to get the full 1.0 version first; the 1.1 is just an optional patch for some graphics cards. Just register in rFactor Central and you can get both versions of the game. This mod is the best simulator of that series, so if you are a fan, install it onto your rFactor.
