Under the slogan “Converts almost anything...” Software 995 promotes this pretty powerful tool. Well, it is true, it can converts almost anything if we are talking about images files. From a very large list of file types, wich includes HTML, DOC, XLS, WPD, PDF, JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, PCX, PPT, PS, TXT, Photo CD, FAX and MPEG, among others, you can choose whatever you need at the moment.
Since it can monitor and convert automatically files, the process of convertion isn't as straightforward as it could be. But as it's common to say, no pain no gain.
OmniFormat works with a list of what it calls “Watch Folders”. You can add to the list the folders you wish and the system will monitor them for new files. Then, you have to start the monitoring process by clicking a button for it. Now, if you don't click it again to stop this process, the OmniFormat will stay up, waiting.
With the input side of the process commented let's move on to the output. You will be able to choose the format of the output files from a really large list containing some of the following well known formats: PDF (the default option), BMP, JPG, MPG, MPEG, GIF, PAL, TIF and others.
The customization of the output includes the following options:
Modulation section (100 is unchanged)
Brightness
Saturation
Hue
Size
Same as original checkbox (invalidate the following options when checked)
Maximum widht
Maximum height
Fit to maximum widht and height
Move converted files to output folder checkbox (if not checked, the same folder as original)

Some final comments. The memory usage is set in High by default but it is not recommended for low RAM capacity PC. The OmniFormat will DELETE the original files on convertion so you have to keep the original file out from the Watch Folders, otherwise the apllication will make you angry!!
The Install OmniFormat as a service button will set the application as a system service, running in a background basis and launching on operative system startup. You can go for the licenced version for only 9,95 bucks, an affordable price.
