LEADTOOLS TIFF Tag Editor is an excellent and simple free tool to view and edit the metadata present in your TIFF images. The selection of tags available for editing includes the dimensions of the image, the bits per sample, the compression rate, the orientation, or the resolution. You can also add private tags, and view all tag IDs and values in hexadecimal format if so desired.
The program will display your TIFF image of the first page of any multi-page TIFF file, and will show you all the tags already available. When dealing with multi-page TIFF documents, you will be given a link to each of the pages in the document. Each page is considered to be an individual image, and thus you can tag each page individually. Tags can be updated (edited), deleted, emptied, and inserted, but always following the necessary rules for standard TIFF tagging. Thus, when inserting a new tag you will be given a list of possible codes that you can use – they are either unused or they refer to codes that support multiple entries. As these “accepted” codes come without any label whatsoever, you are supposed to have certain knowledge of the standard in order to make the right choice.
All values in the Tag Id, Count, and Value fields can be shown using hexadecimal numbers, if so required.
