FilePDF is a complete PDF creator and editor. Especially designed to work with scanned documents, you can apply OCR technology to your newly acquired documents to retrieve the full text, edit it, and save it as a PDF document. You can make your scanned PDF files searchable and indexable, and also split and merge existing PDFs.
You can use FilePDF as a PDF viewer, organizing all the active documents in convenient and easy to locate tabs. With FilePDF, you can also view your TIFF files. The “Work with Pages” function is one of the assets of this tool. Here you will be able to have an overview of all the pages in the document and their layout using thumbnails. You can then rearrange the whole document just by dragging the thumbnails to their new location, or by extracting, deleting, and adding new pages (either from any PDF document or by using the scanner).
FilePDF allows you to reorganize also full PDF documents, merging them, inserting one into a specific position in another PDF, splitting a document into smaller PDF files, interchanging pages between files, etc. You can split the viewing window to show two simultaneous documents side by side, allowing you to move information from one another just by dragging and dropping with your mouse.
Its OCR functionality is surely its main asset. Unlike most scanning software products, which create nothing but an image out of every scanned page, FilePDF uses advanced OCR technology to recognize and save the text embedded in the image file. In fact, you are getting the best of both worlds – a perfect image of the original layout, and the real text embedded to it. Thus, you are allowed to view, edit, and save this text as either a PDF file or a Word document, making the scanned file fully searchable and indexable.
