PDF2Word Converter is an application for converting PDF documents to different formats, such as PDF to Word, PDF to RTF, PDF to HTML, or PDF to TXT.
Without the need of having any Acrobat program installed in the user computer, PDF documents can easily converted to other presentation formats, preserving the original documents format (images, backgrounds, colors, etc.). The output result file is a document generated in another format that is very representative of the original file.
The application supports batch conversion and allows the user to convert PDF password protected documents.
The program can work in these modes:
Standard mode - The application will transform the PDF document to the selected output format preserving text and images original positions, obtaining an output file very similar to the original PDF file.
Contigous mode - The original document text and images positions are no respected, and the text lines will be placed together in order to save space in the output file.
User can also select the output file format:
Microsoft Office Word format (DOC) - The application converts PDF to Word documents preserving all the document formats. Also, the output file is compressed to make it smaller than an RTF document.
Rich Text format (RTF) - The program converts the PDF document saving all the original file formats, that are converted to instructions to be interpreted by different applications, as well as by compatible Microsoft programs, and the output result document is not compressed.
Text Only (TXT) - The application converts the PDF document to a plain Text file, without saving any original format. Page and section breaks and new line special characters are converted to paragraph marks, using ANSI character set. This conversion is useful when the destination program can't read or interpret ant file formatting.
MS-DOS text - PDF files are converted in the same way as the above described Text Only conversion, but using the extended ASCII character set, so the MS-DOS based programs can read the output documents. This is useful when transfering documents between Word and any other program not based on Windows.
HTML - Saves original text with all the HTML tags. The output document can be viewed in any Web browser and/or placed on a server for Web publishing purposes.
Filtered HTML - Same as the HTML conversion but with minimal Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) formatting. The output document can be shown by any Web browser.
Web Archive - Saves the text, images, and all the formatting as a single-file Web page. The output document can be treated as any regular web page.
Word Template - Save as a Word template. The application saves all formatting, according to the chosen template.
