SeriCon is a univeral serial (COM) port control program, by which you can easily send, receive and monitor various kinds of data to and from your hardware connected to the port. It frees your hardware's MCU from number coversion codes for serial communication, and also can be used as a pulse counter, generator or a timer, as described below.

CTS, DSR and RLSD(also called DCD) can be universally used to read and display some signals from your hardware. For each bit, not only the level(high or low) but also its time-related pieces of information, that is, the count of level changes, and the high and low level durations of the pulse, can be displayed.

RTS and DTR, can be universally used to generate and send static or dynamic signals with variable specifications(periods, high and low level durations, numbers of cycles).

1-, 2- and 4-byte integers with decimal, hexadecimal and octal expressions, and double precision floating numbers (8 bytes), as well as simple charater strings, can be successively input, displayed and output through the serial communication. Therefore you don't have to spend efforts in devising number conversion routines when you program the microcontroller in your hardware connected to RD and TD pins (also called RxD and TxD). The datum you set can be automatically sent through TD with a variable period and number of times.

A file (sound file or program, for example) can be specified for an 'action' to be excuted when an 'event' occurs. You can define an event to be a situation where an input pulse count reachs a specified value or where RD receives a specified character.

Therefore SeriCon can be used in many ways, in experiments, engineerings, or electronic hobby works.

Installation is simple. Just extract sericon20.zip into a folder and use the program (SeriCon.exe).

SeriCon is a shareware. Unless you acquire a full license key, you may experience restrictions in some functions and you may see advertising pictures.
